The X-2 HD Handguard was designed to provide the maximum amount of performance and still fit inside the current CMP/NRA Service Rifle Rules and are 2.25" DIA. It offers better barrel cooling, greater stiffness and a more useable gripping surface than any other handguard on the market. This handguard can be used in conjunction with the Aero Precision AR-15 or AR-10 (Armalite or DPMS Thread) barrel nuts that fit any standard AR-15 or AR-10 upper recievers. It can also be use with the Aero Precision M4 Enhanced and M5 Enhanced upper recievers. We highly reccomend using the M4 Enhanced or M5 Enhanced upper recievers as they provide the stiffest and strongest handguard connection as well as the strongest barrel nut. The Aero Precision barrel nut used on a standard M4 type upper can be tightened with any standard 3 pin type armorers wrench. The Aero Precision barrel nut used on a standard M5 type upper can be tightened with any standard armorers wrench with a ribbed back that is used to tighten A2 style handguard barrel nuts. The Aero Precision Enhanced upper recievers will come with a proprietary barrel nut wrench.
There are many different brands of wrenches that will work, or you can modify a standard armorers wrench so that it has the correct number of pins. Here are a few options if you wanted to purchase a wrench:

The magpul wrench requires modifications to work with the Aero M4 nut. We use the Magpul wrench for building pretty much all our AR rifles. Heres a link for the magpul wrench if you wish to purchase one.
